General information

The Melle Car Museum presents “History on Wheels” in the industrial palace of the historic furniture factory Melchersmann. The Melle Auto Museum has 200-300 vehicles from different eras of automobile construction on three floors. However, what is special about this museum is that all of the exhibits are ready to drive and are also used regularly.

The museum was founded in 1984 and in 1997 it moved to the former Melchersmann furniture factory on Meller Pestelstrasse. Around 2000 different historical vehicles have been presented on loan so far. It is organized in the form of a non-profit and has 27 equal partners, one of which is the city of Melle. The museum has only volunteers.

With its unique concept, the Automobile Museum Melle is in an enviable position to show really first-class automobiles and motorcycles from the beginning of the motorization up to extraordinary exhibits of recent times in a constant change. Repeat visits are always a new experience.
