2 aviation museums to open in Aichi, Japan

TOYOYAMA, Aichi Prefecture–Aviation aficionados will get a double dose of history when two adjacent museums open here on Nov. 30.
A museum themed on the Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ), Japan’s first domestically produced passenger jet, will start operations at the aircraft’s final assembly plant.
The plant is adjacent to Aichi Prefecture-run Nagoya Airport, where the Aichi Museum of Flight will open on the same day, displaying the YS-11 plane, Japan’s first passenger aircraft developed after the end of World War II.
The MRJ Museum featuring Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd.’s passenger jet will cover a 1,150-square-meter area on the fifth floor of the assembly plant.
